10 2 16 morning call

I did a beach report first today, you'll find it below this post.

Yesterday I only windsurfed, but it was a hell lot of fun. Around 5pm, some overhead sets showed up and below is ding repair master Dani on a wave at sunset.

This is a lovely girl on the beach instead.

I ran into this edit of Maui surfer Kain Daly and I feel like sharing it. Some crazy aerials, but some really good power surfing also.

Signficant buoy readings 6am.
N
8.3ft @ 9s from 67° (ENE)

Pauwela
7ft @ 8s from 46° (NE)

Lanai
1ft @ 13s from 200° (SSW)

Below is the graph of Pauwela and you can see that bump on the dark blue line around sunset time yesterday. It's even bigger this morning, but with a lot of wind on it, as the beach report stated. Didn't surf early morning, maybe I will later, but I'm definitely counting on a windsurf session as the main source of fun for the day.

Where were those windswell waves coming from? From the windswell fetch is the answer.
So let's keep an eye on it on today's wind map, because that's gonna be the main source of waves for the next few days, as it has a touch of orange in it.
The south fetch is shooting east of us. We might get a little something in a week, even though next weekend we'll have a much bigger NW swell to deal with.

MC2km maps stuck to Friday, below are the two models at the bottom of the Windguru page showing a hell lot of wind and clouds. I do like the trend to becoming more easterly tomorrow, hopefully the early morning waves will be a bit cleaner because of that. We shall see.
